Other Claim Websites

The below listed websites offer a great value whether the information supplied is free or for a charge. One idea alone can increase a claims value or enable you to get coverage for a denied claim. If your claim is increased by $5,000.00 or $50,000.00, it does not matter if you paid $5.00 or $95.00 for the information that led you there. If you hired an attorney or public adjuster, it would cost you from 10% to 50% of your claim.

We began to search Google and five other major search engines using “insurance claim” as the search word in May of 2004. The following list is not intended to be all inclusive and may or may not reflect the most current versions and updates to these websites.

Most other websites (that search engine results for terms such as “insurance claim help, advice etc”) were way off the subject of claims. Most were leading into insurance sales, adjusting services and other claim related services for the industry such as water and fire damage restoration contractors.

1. www.claimspages.com – is an informational database for insurance claims professionals, not homeowners or business owners or policyholders.

2. www.autoaccidentclaims.com – Appears to be for auto injury claims primarily. The author is selling a book for $19.95 which based on his “about the author” page, should be a good value. We have not seen the book. It has a free gimmicky claim calculator on the front page.

3. www.ican2000.com – looks very professional, well organized and has lots of useful links. And it’s all free. His “about the author” page shows that he is an advocate for policy holders.

4. www.unitedpolicyholders.org – While this “non profit” website has a lot of very good free claim handling advice for consumers, the main thrust appears to be ultimately to help the consumer by “changing the system”, that is, changing and adding new government laws to regulate how claims are handled by insurers. That’s a noble cause and worthy of donations in and of itself. The founder, Amy Bach, is an attorney by profession and her perspective is from a legal stand point as opposed to from a public adjusters standpoint..

5. www.uclaim.com – This website offers “how to” eBooks for sale on how to handle your own various types of auto, home and business property insurance claims. Most of the eBooks have tables of contents and appendixes that are viewable online. The value in these eBooks are the ideas and techniques that have been previously closely guarded by public adjusters and attorneys. It’s all revealed by Ron Cercone, a now semi retired public adjuster and contributor to this website. He adjusted claims for insurers from 1980 to 1995. He has been a “public adjuster” since 1995, working against insurance companies and paid by policy holders.

    Sandy,

    (continued from Other Claim Types)

You can ask, but I don’t think they will give it since you are not the policy holder.
